YSL Rouge Pur Couture #7 Le Fuchsia
The summer trend this year is: bright colours for lips, cheeks and eyes. This is a good reason to finally write a review about Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture #7 Le Fuchsia. The colour description is just perfect – it is a true fuchsia lipstick without any shimmer. The finish is semi glossy once (freshly) applied but it sets rather velvety. It feels very creamy and the colour is opaque. This shade, although loud and fuchsia, is quite wearable and it would suit many skintones. The staying power is up to four hours on me, it leaves a pretty strong fuchsia stain. This is my favourite colour out of all the Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks. The texture is very different than the slippery and rather hard to work with Rouge Volupté one. If you don’t like those you should take a look at the Rouge Pur Couture line. The packaging is gold and prone to fingerprints (see picture above). I don’t know why but I actually like it, I associate YSL with bright colours, colourful ideas, so the packaging doesn’t bother me.
Le Fuchsia looks quite different, depending on the lighting, either more fuchsia red or fuchsia pink but definitely fuchsia (so beautiful). The trend seems to go for bright lips and minimalistic eye makeup – well, it is an option but I also like to wear deep, smokey eye looks with bright lips or some colour, sometimes I go matchy-matchy as well (the fuchsia colour from my YSL Vinyl Candy palette for example or the YSL nail polish in Fuchsia Intemporel). I don’t think it clashes or is looking too much. I may do some eye-looks-for-bright-lipsticks posts, so the whole review marathon won’t get boring, neither for you or for me, haha.
When it comes to bright lipsticks, YSL is my first choice (Chanel L’eclatante is a nice bright lipstick as well though). Do you have a favourite bright lipstick? What’s your favourite look, bright lips and soft eye makeup or rather smokey eyes?
