Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Supplement
It all started some weeks ago, I noticed some changes in my skin, not major ones but still. I was using my Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum for a long time now and I wanted something different but with similar active ingredients. While I was looking for a new serum I came across the Bobbi Brown counter (I got some products from Bobbi Brown some time a go anyways, and I was quite satisfied). The Sails Person sweared by this serum and she had beautiful, smooth looking skin (I know, who knows, maybe she is using a complete different product?).
What convinced me the most though are some of the ingredients and the formulation (how it felt on my hand). Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Supplement contains White Birch Extract (reduces the look of fine, dry lines) and Grape Extract (helps clarify and brighten the complexion). Judging from the whole ingredients list, I pre assumed, that it may be drying or just don’t work for my skintype but I needed a product that fights my dry, fine lines and helps clarify and brighten my complexion!
This multi-benefit antiaging serum claims to improve skin’s appearance and helps prevent visible signs of aging (also I don’t think I have major visible signs yet). It also says, that after four weeks your skin will look firmer, smoother, more even-toned and radiant. This serum is non-acnegenic.
How to use it: morning and night, before moisturizer, massage few drops into your skin (I used about three for my whole face and neck), allow to dry.
My experience: when I first applied it to my skin, I was disappointed by how sticky it felt (not as smooth as it was on my hand). After a few seconds it all absorbed into my skin and kind of set (still, it felt a wee bit sticky). My moisturizer glided on more smoothly than usual though. I have dry and dehydrated skin so I was prepared to experience some dryness (dehydration mainly) and I was right. What surprised me though, my dry patches disappeared (!?). I changed my moisturizer and used my Beauty Oils more on a regular basis. Another negative factor after just one week appeared, I got some tiny breakouts. I stopped using the serum for three days and then started to use it again. Well, all I can say is, that after almost eight weeks of usage (morning and evening), my skin’s appearance improved indeed! I haven’t noticed it at first, I just was surprised that for example, my foundation glides on smoother than usual and other people have asked me what I have done, because my skin is looking its best, youthful and radiant. I haven’t gotten any breakouts after two weeks of use, my skin looks clearer, smoother and my skin texture seems improved as well.
The serum is almost empty and I still don’t know if I am going to repurchase it or not, I find it quite expensive but effective. Normally, I don’t wait that long (eight weeks) till I have experienced some benefits from a skincare product. But maybe I have to use a second bottle and see what will happen then, if my skin will improve even more or maybe it will just remain in the condition it is now. I don’t think, that this serum is the perfect choice for super dry and dehydrated skin, I had to change my whole skincare routine.
Final thoughts: Bobbi Brown’s Intensive Skin Supplement provided visible results after eight weeks on my skin, this is quite long for a skincare product in that price category (normally I get/see some improvements after two weeks, if not sooner). It helped exactly with the problems I had though (pores, skin texture, very fine lines, dull skin), my skin looked more radiant but my hyperpigmentation hasn’t faded (hasn’t gotten worse either). I experienced dehydration, a change in my skincare routine helped. I don’t know if I am going to repurchase this product, also I am satisfied now, I still find this serum a bit expensive for what it is.
Full list of ingredients will be updated next week, I tossed the outer packaging …
